How To Chose the Perfect Ring

Source

-->
So you have found the perfect girl but you're not sure where to begin when it comes to finding the perfect ring. Below are some helpful tips about how to chose the perfect ring that symbolizes your love!

-->As with any event planning process, the same goes for buying a ring. Know your budget! This will help you determine many other factors along the way by determining which aspect of the ring you care most about and are willing to spend money on. The old tradition is put away two months’ salary, but nowadays that might not be the best option. This graphic offers some guidance of where the market is at and what you should be expecting to spend.  Talk to their friends. See what they think about design options because more than likely, they have discussed it a few hundred times!
Know what the 4 C's are and how they affect the diamond.
    • Cut: The shape of the diamond. From princess to emerald there are so many different options for how a ring can look. Here is a visual of what each classic shape looks like.

    • Carat: The size of the diamond. Diamond sizing to men is very much like the male's understanding of bra sizes, not extremely accurate! This image should help give a better understanding of the sizes and how they would look on a hand.

    • Color: The color of the diamond refers to the amount of yellowness in the diamond and is graded on an alphabetical scale from D - Z.

    • Clarity: Clarity is based on the amount of inclusions or specks found within the diamond.

    • Now that you've picked the diamond, you will need to determine the setting.  Reference the suggestions from friends to help guide you.

Now that you have all of the basics decided, choose which color you would like the metal to be. Historically, yellow gold has been the go-to selection. In modern times, white gold and platinum are more popular for their silver tones. Another trending metal is the popular rose gold tones.

3 Tips for Choosing Your Perfect Wedding Dress

http://www.weddingsbylilly.com/wedding-dresses/choosing-a-wedding-dress-in-austin/Shopping for your wedding dress should be fun and exciting, not stressful. Here are some helpful tips to make sure you decide on the perfect wedding dress.
  • First and foremost you need to decide on the budget for your wedding dress and stick to it! When you make your first exciting trip to the bridal store it can be tempting to try on any and all dresses that catch your eye, even if they are out of your budget.  This is a dangerous game to play. You don’t want to fall in love with a dress that isn’t going to happen, so don’t put yourself in that situation.  You also need to decide if you want to purchase multiple dresses.  Some brides will get one dress for the ceremony and one to change into for the reception. If you decide on multiple dresses, make sure to include them all in your wedding budget.
  • Second, you need to consider the time of year and location of your ceremony.  Will the ceremony be indoor or outdoor?  What is the temperature like that time of year?  Is there a chance of rain or snow?  For example, if you are having a beach wedding I would recommend a lighter material with not too many layers so that you don’t overheat.

  • Third, decide on the style of dress you are interested in.  Do you want a ball gown, A-line, empire waist, short, etc.?  Also, consider the type of neck line you would prefer.  Below is a picture of all the different neckline types. This will help narrow down the selections once you get to the dress store.  Consider your body type and in what you will feel most comfortable.  However, feel free to change your mind.  You might have your heart set on a certain style but once you try it on, you aren’t really feeling it.  That’s ok, just move on to the next style until you find the right fit for you.

Lastly, remember to pick YOUR favorite dress!  It can be distracting when your closest friends and relatives all seem to have an opinion, but remember it’s your day and you need to choose your dream dress.
Happy Shopping!

Lets Raise Our Glasses: The Do's & Don'ts of Wedding Toasts

-->
When it comes to wedding toasts, they can often be a blessing and a curse. It is a huge honor but nobody wants to do it. To the maid of honor and best man, don't worry! Giving the speech is not as difficult as it looks. In fact it can be a lot of fun and is a great way to show how much you love the bride and groom. Now if you are still nervous below are some dos and don'ts to make sure your speech goes off without a hitch.

First things first, introduce yourself to the crowd and explain your relationship to either the bride or the groom. This is not only good for the guests to know but is often a great way to lead into the rest of your speech.

Do: Tell personal stories
Don't: Tell personal stories that would embarrass the bride or groom

Do: Bring up friends and family members if the stories allow
Don't: Bring up any old ex's

Do: Say everything you want to say
Don't: Talk just to talk, make sure you keep it to the point

Do: Relax and enjoy yourself
Don't: Drink excessively in order to relax

Do: Make it funny
Don't: Make it inappropriate

Do: Practice your speech
Do: Be sentimental
Do: Be yourself!

If you speak from the  heart and follow these things your speech will go off without a hitch!

Happy Planning (and writing)!

Fall Wedding Inspiration!

As the months go by it is hard to believe the leaves are already getting ready to change. Though wedding season is typically during the warmer weather, fall weddings can be just as beautiful and enjoyable. For people that may not want such a bright color scheme a fall wedding gives you the options of using orange, red, maroon, gold, dark purple, or brown colors. If you are worried about heat or would prefer to be cooler vs warmer this could be a good time of year as well. Here is some inspiration to plan a fall wedding!

Everyone loves a candy bar and there are lots of candies to use around this time of year. Plus, there are plenty of places to get it since Halloween is right around the corner. Candy corn, Reeces, and pumpkin spice cupcakes are just a few examples. Other fun elements to incorporate into your wedding could be a "make your own candy apple bar" or a "s'mores bar!"

Another way to incorporate delicious fall treats is by giving a s'more kit, hot chocolate kit, or mini pumpkins as favors for your guests to take home.

Your decor is not the only way you can incorporate your fall theme. A unique thing you can do is have leaves in your bouquet with red and orange flowers. You could also have your bridesmaids bouquets a small bundle of hey with some small flowers incorporated.

You can also have a flower arrangement made for your hair that incorporates your wedding colors to bring a pop of color to your wardrobe.

If the idea of a fall wedding sounds good to you but you do not want to be outside there are plenty of ideas for you to bring to an inside venue. You can put small trees inside to make it look like you are outside or having elaborate center pieces. Adding a lot of candles, pumpkins and leaves are also good ways to bring an outdoor feel to an indoor venue!

Below are some images to help inspire you while you plan your upcoming fall wedding!

Happy wedding planning!!
